About the Presenter:Top of page

Dr. Brianna Norton is an assistant professor of medicine in the Divisions of General Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/ Montefiore Medical Center. Her clinical work includes the treatment of HCV, HIV, and opioid dependence in the primary care setting. She conducts research to improve linkage to HCV care and treatment for people who inject drugs. She is also the medical director of the NY Harm Reduction Educators, a syringe exchange program in East Harlem and the South Bronx.

At the completion of this educational session, participants will:
1. Understand the natural progression of liver disease among HIV/HCV co-infected.
2. Recognize differences in HCV epidemiology among HIV/HCV co-infected compared to HCV mono-infected.
3. Be able to state the data among HIV/HCV co-infection in DAA trials and real-world trials.
4. Understand the primary interactions among HIV meds and the DAA's.

The target audience is all physicians, NPs and PAs involved or interested in HIV education.
